Costa Rica…The Rich Coast is exactly all that the name implies. The richness extends from the colors of the sea, sand, rainforest and coffee to the quality of life that Ticos here enjoy. During a week in Costa Rica every flavorful morsel and refreshing drink I’ve savored has sprung from this bountiful, young land which heaves frequently just to remind you its still in the process of being born. Everything is tree-ripened, local, organic and expertly prepared – the sort of foods you have to seek out and pay dearly for back home. At Los Suenos Marriot Resort, Sous Chef Rodrigo Salazar Loria’s award-winning, innovative Nuevo Latino dishes converted me into a fervent devotee of molecular-cuisine. I leave Costa Rica with newly-acquired tastes: for the flavors of Central American cuisine; for the rush of adrenaline that comes from zip-lining, deep-sea fishing and jungle trekking and for the soothing after-effects of endorphins - enjoyed best with a cocktail at sunset. - Maria Gorshin
